Last month I was asked to go and photograph Hannah and her gym in York for some promotional material. She was such a lovely person and it was very fun to have a whole space like this to ourselves for the afternoon... certainly some slightly different and new images came of it!
Having been in touch with Harriet for many, many years, whilst both living up in Sheffield and York, somehow our paths never crossed and a shoot never happened. Luckily for me, I realised she was down in Bristol whilst I was visiting Oxford so a well overdue set of photos could finally happen!..
A quick afternoon shoot with this beautiful Canadian left me with some lovely images. She had a very pretty smile and cool style, for more photos... keep on reading...
Some exciting news, we decided to put together a 2019 calendar of Xenia for her many, many fans. They're already ordered and look amazing... for more information, keep on reading!..
Having spent only a couple of quid on this outfit from Amazon, taking a chance along with a few others for a similar price, we didn't really know what to expect... but when it arrived, it turns out it was a perfect fit. The next day, scouting backup locations for our tuition and having a general wander in the sun, we stumbled across this lovely old container at the top end of South Park (Oxford), hidden away in the trees... so it was almost impossible not to take advantage and take a few snaps!
Xenia got changed in the bushes, and 20 minutes later we were done. It's amazing what you can find when you don't expect anything.
I popped out around Headington a week or so ago to spend an hour with this pretty lady - a friend of someone I photographed last time I was in Oxford (post coming soon!..). We didn't have long and somehow got kicked off Oxford Brookes campus, but managed to get plenty of nice photos in the end!...
With a bit of free time one afternoon, and not much motivation to get out and do anything - we decided to once again see what we could do in a small room with just the ever changing window light and a white bed sheet. It's always a challenge in these situations, but it keeps it interesting to figure out angles and perpectives with such limitations in place... and in the end, I'm quite happy with the results!
You can find more of Xenia here.
I'll be in Oxford until the 13th of September and we will be looking for anyone interested to come and join us in gaining confidence and knowledge in shooting professional models in natural light. Xeniamodel is an experienced model and I've been shooting this kind of thing for 8 years, with many more years experience of teaching, so this will be a great opportunity for anyone interested in starting out in this area. We will be primarily teaching how to make the most of natural light, but will be modifying this with reflectors and talking about how we could change this with other lighting setups - learning to make the most of whatever the weather throws at us.
Working around Oxford, there are numerous locations available for both urban and rural shoots - the theme will be flexible depending on the weather and what you're interested in learning, but we will ensure that you get the most from this shoot and leave knowing much more than you arrived with.
All you need is a camera, and we'll do the rest.
The cost of this tuition, including the model fees, will be £30 for 1hr or £50 for 2hrs, with additional tuition on processing at a time of your choosing (possible via Skype or at a nearby coffee shop after the shoot) for £15/hr. We can be flexible with timings so get in touch with your preferred dates and we can work around you - although we may then allow a maximum of one other photographer to join us at the same time. Group bookings are also welcome - so please get in touch to discuss this at a discounted rate.
